Gift Guide for the Naturally Minded Pregnant Mom

As a birth doula and educator, I have worked with and chatted with hundreds of pregnant moms. I have also had four pregnancies myself! These are my top recommendations for a gift for naturally minded pregnant moms.

THE COZIEST BABY WRAP CARRIER FROM SOLLY BABY

Why —> This baby wrap is perfect for the newborn stage and my #1 baby item. Moms intuitively want to wrap up their newborns and after personally trying many brands, I can confidently say that Solly Baby is the best.

NATURAL AND SAFE LAUNDRY/DISHWASHER DETERGENT FROM TRULY FREE

Why —> A safe and effective laundry/cleaning product without questionable ingredients is likely top of mind for a woman about to have a baby because of the importance of decreasing toxins during pregnancy and for their newborn when they arrive!

PREGNANCY TEA AND HERBAL SOOTHING BATH FROM EARTHLEY WELLNESS

Why —> A clean pregnancy tea and herbal bath is exactly what every pregnant mom needs, and it’s perfect to help her feel a bit pampered while also getting products that have many health benefits!

A HIGH QUALITY BIRTH CLASS

Why —> No matter what type of birth she is planning, a good birth class is so important to help her understand birth, her options, and mindset. Every mom needs to know these things, and having a positive birth will impact her life FOREVER! If she is planning an unmedicated birth, Birth Academy would be perfect for her.

CALM MAGNESIUM

Why —> This magnesium is great for pregnancy and postpartum anxieties, constipation, and general health and wellness. I recommend it to almost everyone.

PREGNANCY PILLOW

Why —> Getting comfortable while sleeping is super hard when you are pregnant, and this pillow helps so much. I’ve tried several and it’s my personal favorite.

BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM BOOKS

Why —> If the woman in your life likes to read, it’s a great way to relax and prepare for birth! My personal most recommended books are: ‘Babies are not Pizzas’ by Rebekkah Dekker, and ‘Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth’ by Ina May. For Postpartum, I love ‘The First Fourty Days’ by Heng Ou.

BIRTH BALL

Why —> At the end of pregnancy it’s difficult to get comfortable anywhere besides on a birth ball, and all the rocking and moving will help baby get into a good position for birth! Many moms also use their birth balls after their baby is born to rock and bounce them.

TABLE TRAY

Why —> A postpartum mom should be resting in those early days and this is a simple gift to show her that you want her to be doing just that. Bonus if you use it during her postpartum to bring her nourishing meals and snacks in bed!

FRIDA MOM POSTPARTUM SUPPLIES

Why —> This brand is awesome for all things postpartum healing so that she can take care of herself after baby is born!

LABOR AND BIRTH SUPPLIES GIFT BASKET

Why —> Because her birth matters! If I were to put together a gift basket like this for a pregnant mom I would include twinkle lights (for birth room vibes), simple combs (for acupressure and pain management during contractions), a mini handheld fan (to stay cool during contractions), a nice labor playlist, and homemade affirmation cards!
