Simple Tips to Decrease Tearing in Childbirth

This week I've got 3 quick tips for you to decrease tearing during childbirth. Because we definitely want no tearing if possible, right?!

Okay, here they are:

  1. Wait until you feel the strong urge to push before you even start thinking about pushing. I'm talking about the fetal ejection reflex here- your uterus will push your baby down and out if you wait!

  2. Controlled breathing. When you do feel the fetal ejection reflex- don't push with all of your might! Instead take deep controlled breaths (learn about this type of breathing in Birth Academy!) like you are blowing out a candle, keeping your airways open.

  3. Push in an upright or semi-upright position. Common positions are squatting, hands and knees, leaning on a chair, etc)

There you have it! Quick and easy.

Keep in mind that Birth Academy is opening in a few short weeks and it is packed with tips like this! Birth Academy is the comprehensive formula to unmedicated, instinctive, and transformative birth experience. You don't want to miss it!
